NQRTH MBBS (Hons) Research Scholarships
The Northern Queensland Regional Training Hubs (NQRTH), in collaboration with the College of Medicine and Dentistry (CMD), are proud to offer the following scholarship opportunity in 2026 aimed at strengthening rural health research capacity across Northern Queensland.
NQRTH MBBS (Hons) Top-Up Scholarship
This scholarship offers up to $1,000 in funding, to current JCU MBBS Honours students undertaking research in rural or remote settings. The aim of this scholarship is to help cover direct research costs associated with conducting research in rural and remote areas. The scholarship can be used for costs such as travel for site visits, and dissemination of research activities.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be currently enrolled in one of the following Honours programs:
- Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (Honours)
- Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours
- Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with Honours (Graduate)
Please note: Highest priority will be given to research projects conducted in MMM 3–7 locations, with consideration also extended to projects centred on regional areas.
This scholarships reflect NQRTH’s commitment to fostering meaningful research experiences that address the unique challenges faced by rural communities.
