Our network of hospital and health services works together with James Cook University to strengthen medical specialist training in Cairns, Central West, Mackay, North West, Torres and Cape, and Townsville. Our regions, spanning almost 90% of the state, offer a wide variety of unique training and research opportunities as well as a diverse mix of people and landscapes.

NQRTH is an initiative of the Australian Government's Integrated Rural Training Pipeline (IRTP) and is facilitated by James Cook University in partnership with public and private hospitals, Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council (QAIHC), health services, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) and GP clinics.
