LifeFlight offers accredited anaesthetic training positions suitable for AT or PF trainees. I am an IMG currently based in Melbourne, seeking an RMO position at a hospital. I completed my AMC MCQ CAT Exam and English proficiency test, and am eligible for AHPRA. I have 5 years of recency, including intensive care unit. I want to know which hospital is best to get higher chance and currently I am on a student visa. Is this affecting getting a job? Should I contact the hospital personally via the recruitment email? Is it helpful to get a job, or does the whole QLD recruitment just take their RMO from campaigns?
We suggest it is not negative to contact the health services you are most interested in applying to. In our experience, the Health Services are open to contact particularly around clarifying personal circumstances. We have hosted the RMO and Registrar webinar in partnership with QLD Health who will also present on the application processes, which may be helpful. You can watch the recording here.

What’s the Anaesthetic teaching like in Cairns?
Answered by Dr Monty Chugg: Fantastic! There's a big group of IT's this year and we have ~2hrs of protected teaching time every week, as well as a weekly morning meeting and 1:1 teaching with SMOs. Also worth mentioning that it is almost impossible to get an anaesthetic rotation unless you are: 1) On the Rural Generalist Pathway or 2) A Critical Care SHO (we're big on building relationships and longer-term mentorship here).

I passed AMC 1 and did pre internship before graduation in my final year. I am currently working as a nurse in Australia on PR. I am doing postgraduate Masters in Forensic mental health. I am interested in working rurally. Can l get a job for internship with more than 3 years gap?
I would suggest reaching out to the QLD Health Intern Campaign team to discuss your personal circumstances Intern-Recruitment@health.qld.gov.au.

I am an IMG, currently living in Melbourne. I have completed AMC Part 1 and am eligible for limited registration. I have 3 yrs experience working as a doctor overseas. Really interested in the WBA program or being a junior doctor. Am I eligible for it?
Many health services do require applicants to already be employed within the health service to be eligible to apply for the program.
